2011 Hawai‘i QSO Party Rules

Purpose

Promote contacts between as many Hawai‘i and non-Hawai`i stations as possible.

Rules 1.  The operating period will be 04:00 UTC Aug 27 to 22:00 UTC Aug 28, 2011.
2.  Stations may be worked only on the 10, 15, 20, 40, 80 and 160 meter bands.
3.  Each station may be worked in four modes on one band - SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK.
4.  Operators of multi-operator club stations may also operate from their home station.
5.  The use of spotting by any means is permissible.
6.  Operation must conform to FCC and station home country regulations.
7.  Logs should be submitted by September 30, 2011.

Class A - Single Transmitter QRP:Mixed Mode. 5w CW, RTTY or PSK31; 10w PEP Phone
Class B - Single Operator CW only:CW only
Class C - Single Operator Digital:CW, RTTY or PSK31 - 150w PEP or less
Class D - Single Operator Low Power:Mixed Mode - 150w PEP or less
Class E - Single Operator High Power:Mixed Mode - 1500w PEP or less
Class F - Multi Operator/Multi Station:Mixed Mode only.

Non-Hawai‘i Stations:  Work Hawai‘i stations. Hawai‘i Stations:  Work any station.
Each station can be worked four times per band using each mode - SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK31.

Raw Score The Raw Score is the result of adding the QSO Points for stations worked on all bands operated.
Contest Multipliers
Non-Hawai`i Stations:   Multipliers are awarded for working each QTH ID on each band (regardless of mode). The
  maximum possible is 66 (6 Bands × 11 QTH IDs = 66).
Hawai`i Stations:     Multipliers are awarded for working each of the 11 Hawai`i QTH IDs, each US State (except Hawai`i)
  DC, each Canadian Province/Territory, and DXCC entities once (regardless of band or mode).
Final Score The Final Score is the Raw Score multiplied by the Contest Multipliers earned.

In each of the six operating categories, award certificates will be presented to the top three scorers:
 

 Hawai`i Stations: Each County Other US Stations: Each US Call District
 Canadian Stations: Each Province DX Stations: Each Continent
Suggested Frequencies
CW: General sub-band lower limit and up 25 kHz.
Phone: General sub-band lower limit and up 25 kHz; 28.300-28.500 MHz on 10 meters.
Digital Modes:   Follow ARRL Band Plan.
Log
Submission

Logs should be submitted by email to Cabrillo 3.0 format is preferred, but Cabrillo 2.0 or any reasonable text format with all QSO exchange information is acceptable. Log submissions must arrive prior to October 1st, 2011 to be considered for awards.
